Viva Las Vegas 17 - part 5

So after a crazy Saturday, and a few hours of sleep, we woke up on the final day of Viva Las Vegas, ready for a day of lounging by the pool.

I will admit, my first thought was to go straight back to sleep, but my second thought was of how long the queue to the pool party gets in the afternoon (very long), so we got ready quickly, and headed down to meet friends and nab us some sun loungers.

The weather was hot and sunny this year, with no breeze to blow around my hair or knock my drinks over, unlike the last couple of years, when the pool area became a wind tunnel!

The only cool breeze was this guy standing next to me!

The hubs and I ended up being quite matchy-matchy again, by complete coincidence....

I wore a Cassandra Cadillac playsuit - the third outfit by her that I wore at Viva this year!  Loverboy wore a vintage cabana suit, complete with towelling lining in the shirt.

The Sunday pool party is one of my favourite parts of Viva Las Vegas, and this year was no exception.  The outfits, the sunshine, the tropical cocktails, the music....the atmosphere is just amazing!

Viva is always held over the Easter weekend, but with so much going on, it's very easy to forget....until you spot the Easter bunny (or bunnies, as the case may be)...

I probably forgot about Easter, because I spotted zero chocolate eggs...or maybe because I was too busy dancing...

This year's ladies' swimsuit contest had some great contenders with some totally bitchin' bathing suits...

We made sure to cheer the ladies on...

Loverboy, on the other hand, made sure to congratulate the winner in person...

Harry Belafonte...errr, I mean, Aaron, with VLV 2014 swimsuit contest winner Angelique Noire in the yellow, and pin-up beauty Ashleeta in the red.

The funniest thing about the pool party, is that whilst there are a lot of people who get into the pool....

...most people only get their toes wet...

Because let's face it, vintage bathing suits, playsuits, coiffed hair....and chlorine...do not mix!  So instead, we stand (or sit) next to the pool...

What a dreamboat!!!

I always have a blast at the Sunday pool party, and this year it was up there in my top highlights of the weekend - after all, who doesn't like lounging in the sunshine, sipping mai tais and chatting with friends?  We ended up staying alllllllllllllll day...and before we went to get dinner, we even saw The Trashmen - accompanied by Deke Dickerson and Chris Sprague - play 'Surfin' Bird'.  It might be a classic, but that song will forever remind me of Family Guy, and I'm sure my friend Roxy would agree!

The perfect way to spend the final afternoon of Viva, and there was still a whole load of fun ahead of us that evening...to be continued...
