1 year engagementaversary!

It's Christmas Eve, which means that not only is it Crimbo tomorrow, but it's also exactly one year since loverboy got down on bended knee and proposed to me...and I said YES!

To celebrate we are going to return to the place where he proposed to me - the Clore Ballroom in the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank - and dance to the same band (Five Go Jiving) that we danced to, this time last year...

It it sure to be a romantic day with my sweetheart, and for extra good measure, my mum will be joining us, as well as lots of our lovely friends! Pop down between 1-4pm if you get the chance, as it really is a fun and festive few hours by the Thames, with great music, dancing and a party atmosphere.

Merry Christmas everybody!!!!!!!

Team Brunch Invade London

So, as mentioned in my previous post (which I'm ashamed to admit, was over three weeks ago...tut-tut, bad blogger), the other half of Team Brunch (plus one honorary member!) came to the UK for a week in November. Ironically, we did not have brunch the whole time they were here...

What we did have was...breakfast! Every day! Together! Hoorah!

Aside from breakfast, and general eating, we did a lot of sightseeing. A lot...

Luckily the weather was great and we spent our days walking around town seeing all the attractions, as well as visiting some other off-the-beaten-path London gems (read: salt beef bagels)...we even saw the Queen arrive at Westminster Abbey on one of our excursions! Good timing, Ma'am!

The five of us spent our final night in London together at a sushi restaurant in Camden. Not just any sushi, but all-you-can-eat-sushi (with a 1.5 hour time limit, of course). I'll admit it, we were smug - um hello, this is Team Brunch you're dealing with, dontchaknow. Well, as it happens, they didn't know - but more importantly, we didn't know that we would nearly be defeated...and by salmon sashimi, no less!

It was great having my San Francisco buddies on my turf for a change, and I'm sure that they left my hometown with very fond memories of their trip. Loverboy and I definitely enjoyed their visit, and can't believe how much we laughed that week! Good times, good times...
