Viva Las Vegas 17 - Part 4

On Saturday night the stakes were high, and everyone had an ace up their sleeve, whether it was fringe, lurex, sequins, rayon, gabardine or lace.

I had velvet....and a whole load of sequins, for good measure...

I wore a vintage 1950s pink velvet dress with sequins and tulle, Betsey Johnson pollys, lucite purse and hair orchids from You're Naked Without One.

My sexy beast of a husband took a walk on the wild side...

Aaron wore a vintage 1950s nubby-fleck Hollywood jacket by Louis Sandler Ltd of Beverly Hills, vintage furry leopard-print vest and two-tone, cap-toe, woven Stacy Adams shoes.

In our Saturday best...

Everyone looked amazing that night, and the hotel was transformed into a glamorous gala of elegant people lining the bars and hallways.  Quite a few of us were colour-coordinated...

Of course, at an event where you are surrounded by friends and everyone looks so fabulous, it's inevitable that there is a lot of photo-taking.  Sometimes, however, you just can't find someone to take a photo for you...

 Saturday night selfies!

...or you find someone to take your picture, but a lot of people are not very good behind a camera, so you've gotta make sure that they captured you from your best angle...

Lookin' good, guys!

Music-wise, I was most looking forward to seeing Gizelle and her band on Saturday night.  I had heard a lot of good things about her, and they were all true!  She is a firecracker!

I loved how her personality shone through during her set.  She mentioned that she was nervous about tripping over in her heels, and when she did nearly fall over, she just kicked them off, and continued the set, barefoot.  For a lady with the voice of a diva, she was a real sweetheart!

Viva Las Vegas is the perfect place to rub shoulders with stylish people...

....if you are lucky, you might even get a chest rub...

Oi! Pip Jolley! Hands off!

The Saturday night record hop was really jumping, so I swapped out my sequins for something a little more stretchy.  Once we got comfy, we were ready for a few more hours of jiving!  Edgar from the Rip 'Em Ups was djing late night, and we made sure to catch him - I'm glad that we did, as he played one of my favourite sets from the weekend.  I.  Couldn't.  Stop.  Dancing.

 Bay Area represent!

It was another morning of going to bed as the sun was rising, and we were aware that we would only be able to get a few hours of sleep before we had to get up to go and secure some loungers at the tiki pool party...

...but who needs sleep when you're at Viva Las Vegas?!  After all, Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps...to be continued...

    1. Thanks so much, Kate-Em! One of my friends has already asked to buy my Saturday night dress from me...but I think I will be holding onto it for a while. :) The sunrise was really pretty! It's so strange being indoors the whole time and not realising that it is so bright outside, until you pass a window!
