December is here, which means the Christmas month has begun! I have to admit, I am already feeling very festive, and this year is especially exciting, as it's my first Christmas as a Mrs!
Yes, this year will be a very merry married Christmas, and so we headed out this weekend to soak up some festive cheer...
Covent Garden has to be one of the most twinkly, bauble-icious spots in London around Crimbo, with huge sparkly trees, a giant red-nosed Rudolph, over-sized Christmas ornaments and a big advent calendar made out of lego!
There was also a big Jack Daniel's tree made out of wooden barrels...for that little extra merriment...
Being so near to Somerset House, we walked over to see the ice skating rink, and discovered there was also an indoor Christmas market, full of goodies.
Then we spotted another winter wonderland featuring more ice skaters....made entirely out of chocolate!
Of course, mulled wine also made an appearance this weekend...
Our tree is not going up yet, as we usually wait until it's a bit nearer to Christmas. What we haven't wasted any time in doing, is enjoying some yummy stollen! I also had my work Christmas party last week, so I think it's safe to say that the season to eat, drink and be merry is officially upon us!

ReplyDeletexo,
Em
Thanks Emma! First married Christmas - isn't it exciting and romantic? Then next month will be first wedding anniversary! :) :) :) xx
DeleteWhat a splendid array of holiday cheer and fun! I remember my first year as a Mrs. (eight years ago now), it was such a blast to blend each of our traditions (my husband is from Italy and I'm Canadian) together, while at the same time getting the ball going on new traditions of our own.
ReplyDeleteMerriest Christmas wishes!!!
♥ Jessica
Thanks Jessica! Congratulations on eight years! :) Yes it is definitely fun to make new traditions - I'm so excited for a fun-filled Christmas! I can just imagine that an Italian-Canadian Christmas must be full of so much delicious food!!!! Yum! xx
DeleteWonderful! So jealous of the weather :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I would happily trade the weather with you! Heheh! :)
DeleteI was going to say this is my first year as a Mrs except I then realized we were married last year. I guess that's what I get since we've been together 10+ years. lol
ReplyDeleteAnyway, these photos are enchanting! Love your amazing coat and red accessories, too. :)
Heheheh! Thanks Tasha! So it's your second Christmas as a Mrs...hoorah! :) With this long spell of cold weather, I feel like I need more coats, otherwise all my photos are going to look the same hahahaha! xx
DeleteChocolate ice skaters, now THERE'S some skating I can partake in! And you're just wonderful as always!
ReplyDeleteRuby xx
I know, right? I have decided that actual ice skating is not really my thing, but I agree about the chocolate! :) Thank youuuuuu! xxx
DeleteEngland seems like an ideal place to spend Christmas! Everything looks so festive and fun. We have a lot of Christmas lights in Southern California but it is usually pretty warm on Christmas day (no complaints on that front actually). Although I'd probably hurt myself, I want to ice skating!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly gets very festive here, and everywhere you turn there are endless amounts of mince pies and mulled drinks! I am looking forward to going to the winter wonderland in the next week or so... :) I would not be complaining either, if the weather was warm here!!! xx
DeleteThank you Chloe! I'm so glad that you found my blog and have started following! I have added yours to my google reader too, so will start reading yours too! Happy holidays! xx
ReplyDeleteOh, I love every kitchy things about Xmas so much!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe only problem is my husband to like that too much, so going to all Xmas markets around home is quite impossible...
Me too! Heheheh you two always get to go to sooo many amazing markets - I want to visit all the flea markets that you go to, as you always manage to find so many brilliant things! xx
