My 2013 so far....

Well isn't this month just flying by already?  I haven't even gotten around to starting my pre-Viva exercise regime...I'd better get on that, as it's only 10 weeks 'til swimsuit time!  Gah!

So whilst I haven't been working myself up into a lycra-clad sweat, I have been dancing. We had a great night at Swing at The Light last week - and it seems that a lot of other people have the same 'dance more' resolution, as it was packed!

Loverboy and I also had a great time dancing in Walthamstow the other weekend - I'd never been to Walthamstow before, but 90s boyband (and Take That rivals) East 17 kept popping into my mind...isn't that where they're from?  Either way, we had a great time dancing for a music video that was being filmed, and then stayed to dance to the band that evening.  I am curious to see how it turns out, and will be sure to post it when it's edited!

Earlier this month, I had fun meeting up with my friend E who was visiting from San Francisco, and made sure to take him to the London institution that is the Brick Lane Bagel shop.  Yum.  I often take friends visiting from out of town for a salt beef bagel - and of course I sacrifice myself by indulging in this succulent, meaty, carby, parcel of deliciousness - always with English mustard, obviously.

The feasting continued (yep, I haven't started my pre-Viva diet either...) for loverboy's birthday this week, in the form of my home-made, heart-shaped cappuccino cake.  It was yummers.

We also got our tiki on at Trader Vic's for a birthday meal...

The hubs' birthday was dusted with a sprinkling of snowflakes...

Funnily enough, the day it snowed was not as cold as last Saturday when we headed to Canary Wharf to check out the ice sculpting festival.  The queues coupled with the bitterly cold wind chill meant that we didn't stick around for long.  Even my quilted circle skirt and furry coat could not keep me warm enough!  Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!  I nearly turned into one of the ice sculptures...

Before I forget!  You can now Follow my blog with Bloglovin.  I just started using it this month, and although I am used to following posts on Google Reader, it's a pretty neat way to keep up-to-date with your reading list.

Talking of reading lists, if you haven't already, then head over to the Rockabilly Socialite to enter her awesome SparkleLux earrings giveaway!

  1. I love seeing what kind of fun adventures you kids have been up to. Looks like we won't be going to Viva this year after all. We're gonna try the Lonestar Round-up instead. I've never been to Texas before so I'm excited but I will miss seeing you two. Hugs and hugs and Happy New Year!

    1. Thanks Hollie - I'm excited too! It will be my 3rd Viva, and I'm just as excited now as I was before I went to my first one! :)

Great resolution! What style are you going to learn? Where are you based? I can certainly recommend places to go dancing in London!

Trader Vic's was pretty good. The only problem with wearing Hawaiian is that the only other people there in Hawaiian are the wait staff! :) xx
