Strike!

Last week I went bowling at All Star Lanes, for the first time in years.  It was also the first time I had been bowling with loverboy, so we were definitely overdue the opportunity to spend an evening grabbing big balls.

Mondays are two-games-for-the-price-of-one, so we were in it for the long haul. We switched into our groovy footwear, and headed to the lanes...

You may have already seen this one.  After all, what's the point of going bowling, if you don't let the world of Instagram know?

Our team comprised of: Brown Sugar, Red Lightning (guess who...), Bobby Sharp, Skippy, Brown Swayze, Cannonball Boy and Token Asian.  I'm pretty sure that all of us managed to get at least one strike during the course of the night.  Go team!

Sorry for all the fuzzy photos in this post!  I only had my phone with me, and I have come to realise that dark bowling alleys and poor phone cameras don't mix!

The soundtrack to our games was consistently good all night (think everything from MC Hammer to Edwyn Collins), and there was a lot of this going on...

I didn't win, but Brown Swayze won the second game, because, nobody puts Brown Swayze in the corner.

At the end of the night, we realised that there was some unintentional matchiness going on...

Perhaps this is a sign that we all need to get matching bowling outfits...

I promise to take a proper camera with me next time I go out!!!

  3. Oh how I love bowling! Too bad my back can't handle more than an hour of bending down with a heavy object.

You look totally cute in your cowgirl shirt.

    1. Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that, Mariela. Can you still go bowling, just for one game? Or at least go along, have some cocktails and be the cheerleader/high-fiver! :)

      Thank you! xx

  6. Fabulously fun outing! I haven't bowled in, wow, you know, it's probably been in the range of 13 or 14 years now. Yikes! That's almost half my lifetime ago. Our town's bowling alley is still suck in the 80s (and not in a good way, lol!), so perhaps we'll have to hit one up in a neighbouring town that's better suited to doing a shoot in one of these days. It's something I've thought of doing a few times and would really enjoy. Your fringed gingham shirt here is super-duper adorable! I don't have any vintage bowling garb myself, so I'd be reaching for a cute top or roomy (maybe shirtwaist) dress for an outing like this, too.

Big hugs & oodles of thanks for your lovely comment on my new blog design,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. Oh wow, that's a longer hiatus than mine, Jess! A bowling themed shoot would be super fun! I wish I would have taken a proper camera with me, so that I at least could have taken some in-focus shots, but c'est la vie...

You're very welcome, I love it! xxx
