North-West London Vintage on Southern Retro

Over the summer, I was invited to take part in the Southern Retro photographic project, which features portraits of individuals whose day-to-day lifestyles involve vintage and reviving the past.

This ongoing project is by photographer, and fellow vintage blogger, Mat Keller, who has built up quite a collection of photos since he started the project in 2010.  Each individual who is featured on his website has a separate profile, which includes five portrait shots, and some thoughts on how vintage impacts their lives.

It is intended that the subject's personality shines through, and reflects their own take on vintage, so the photos are taken in each person's home.  The hubs was also photographed that day, so Mat got a two-for-one when he came over to our place!

We had a fun day in front of the camera, and Mat also kindly took some photos of us together afterwards, just for fun...

 Keeeeeeeeeeeeeep dancing!

Thanks to Mat for including us in his project!  Head on over to Southern Retro to see more photos, where I'm sure you will spot a few familiar faces from the UK vintage and blogger scene.  You can also check out Mat's blog, Tales of a Southern Retro for a gentleman's take on vintage fashion, swing dancing and moustachery.

  4. This is a brilliant idea! Tony and I had talked about how cool it would be a few times over the years to have something similar here in Canada, but with our country's small vintage community so spread out here and there, it would be a lot trickier (not impossible, but harder for sure) to pull off. Mat's work is so lovely and inspiring!

You two look incredible! These photos are so beautiful and they really do a stellar job of capturing each of your vintage loving spirits.

I will be sharing Mat's site with Tony right now. Thank you for the great introduction, honey.
