Incendiary flame...

Well, dear readers, this Incendiary Blonde's blonde recently became so incendiary, that it self-destructed.  So, after 8 happy years of having more fun, being preferred by gentlemen, and being incendiary, this happened on Sunday...

I will admit that it has been a shock to the system, and I am sad to lose the blonde, but at the same time, my hair was breaking off despite various hair masks and protein shampoos.  So, this hair bleach hiatus is necessary - and the blonde will be back at some point in the not too distant future, of that I am sure - but until then, I am just going to have to embrace the change.

Apologies for the laptop photo booth photos, but I haven't had a chance to take any proper ones yet!

I am still trying to find a colour that I really like, that doesn't require bleach, and that won't fade too fast on the ends of my hair...so all suggestions are welcome!

I suppose the title of this blog is now a little fraudulent...but, I am still a blonde at heart...

  1. I love it Melanie, it really suits you! Even being a total convert to the blonde myself I have to say you are also a smokin' red head. xx

    1. Thanks Simone! It is proving really hard to get used to, especially as it's a lot shorter now too. I have to say, once a blonde, always a blonde - I will be looking longingly at your hair next time I see you! :P xx

  2. So funny!!! I have the same problem... and asking myself if I will change my hair color soon...
I also like to be blonde, my natural color is light chesnut, I was red head in 2007. I liked that but with blonde underneath about all red color disapeared in only 2 weeks.... What I fear the most when I think about changing my hair color is that a part of my wardrobe will not suit me anymore....

    1. The problems of being a bleach blonde, hey? You are lucky that your hair is naturally lighter - mine is a dark brown, it really took a lot of work to get it so light! Did you like being a redhead? I'm still uncertain, although whatever colour I change to will definitely fade very quickly...

The wardrobe dilemma is something I have been going through for the past couple of days!!!!!!!

  4. I feel your hair colour pain! I'd love to be a bright-red red head, instead of the plummy tint I'm stuck with boo!

The colour you've got now is gorgeous though! Have you considered an apricot shade-somewhere between blonde and orange? It could be kinder to your hair and not too far off your favourite colour.

On the plus side to your new short do, you could do some killer finger waves!

    1. Thanks Ruby! My hair is definitely looking more apricot today, now that I have washed it a few times!!! I think I'm going to try to get it to a darker red though, as my natural colour is so dark, and I'd prefer not to bleach it at all for a while now...

Great minds! I ordered finger wave clips last week, so I will be experimenting with those when they finally arrive. :)

    2. Pssst... the best finger waves I've ever done started life off as pincurls, and were then pushed into place with bobby pins... you didn't hear this from me ;)

      Happy finger wave experimenting!

Thank you very much for your lovely comment on my pumpkin patch outfit post today, dear gal, it's an absolute pleasure to "meet" you.
